Des, Gerry’s father who along with his wife Maureen opened Kennys Bookshop in Galway in 1940. It was always Des’s idea to set up a bookbindery to do fine binding of rare books to be sold in the bookshop, and thus lead to the founding of Kennys Bindery in 1974.
